Imagine discovering a rare treasure. Something so beautiful and complete that it stirs the soul and awakens the mind. At Auto-Heritage we deliver this feeling every time you pick up one of our books.
Believeing in our passion for mainting and continuing historic vehicles, planes and boats we gather all the information necessary and put it on paper in order to preserve our heritage before it is either lost or forgotten. Auto-Heritage is Hench’s book department, dealing with exotic and irreplaceable, rare and often extravagent pieces of art, in the form of a man made object, be it an aeroplane that fought in the war, or a car that raced at Le Mans.
A little about our background: Ever since just a young boy, Jonathan Musk has been passionate about historic cars, whether it was his own BRM racing around his toy Scalextrix track or visiting Silverstone regularly with his father, Jon has gained an intimate and life long knowledge of historic cars, rare for someone his age. His father has owned all sorts of vintage, veteran and classic automobilia as well as some very interesting other items, from a DeHavilland Vampire jet plane to an old Douglas motorbike; Jon absorbed a wide and varied knowledge thanks to constant exposure to historic and collector items.
Upon finishing university, Jon took a job in a North London based Citroen Specialists dealing primarily with Citroen SM and DS, but catering for the owners other collector cars too where Jon quickly learnt about all manner of different automobile history including Bristols, Jensens, Alfa Romeos and many others. Jon’s other love, Wine helped with the decision to co-found Hench, aiming to create graphic designs primarily directed at the wine industry where he has successfully helped and been instrumental in starting new brands and exporting worldwide. Changing tack slightly, it was decided that in order to make the best use of both passions, design and historic automobiles, Auto-Heritage was started to cater for the creation of historic documents in the form of books, combining professional photography (both editing new shots as well as restoring old, tired and ageing photographs), passionate knowledgable writing and the best quality design, presentation, layout and binding possible in order to properly represent the subjects the books are created about, be it a historic racing car, aeroplane or naval vessel.
